From the Designer: As someone who was a programmer for many years the IDE theme Solarized Dark has always been a favorite of mine and I am also a big fan of the feel and sound of DCS profile, so I set out to combine these two into the keyset DCS Solarized Dark. While I know that there have been Solarized Dark themed keysets in other profiles (GMK, XA, DSS) previously, I have felt that none of them quite captured the IDE themes spirit completely for me. Solarized Dark is an IDE theme variant of Solarized both created by Ethan Schoonover originally for VIM. I am trying to use the solarized color scheme in VIM using gnome terminal (Ubuntu). Im having a hard time getting my Solarized Light theme to work properly on Vim. It has been ported to many IDE's over the years and features a teal base with grey text and a multitude of colors for syntax highlighting. For some reason the color palette gets messed up and it doesnt look as expected. Precision colors for machines and people. I really wanted to create a set that when I looked down at my keyboard, made me think immediately of the IDE theme.

Solarized is a color scheme for code editors and terminal emulators created by Ethan Schoonover. Solarized is color palette that’s been designed primarily for terminal and text editor applications, and its goal is to make these applications easier on the eyes so you can code. Solarized is a sixteen color palette (eight monotones, eight accent colors) designed for use with terminal and gui applications. The scheme is available in a light and a dark mode. once you get into more advanced customizations, you end up writing vimscript in both. changing 'normal' to 'N' can be customized with g:airlinemodemap, which is in the documentation. I designed this colorscheme with both precise CIELAB lightness relationships and a refined set of hues based on fixed color wheel relationships. solarized is easily the most complicated theme of all, since it handles 8/16/256/dark/light combinations. The biggest question I had was do I use custom colors or stock colors.
